How many times have you said to yourself "Man, I really want a show-accurate toy of _____, but there isn't one, and commissioning a sculptor would cost too much."
RABIDPEEP AND I HAVE A 3D PRINTER. WE CAN MAKE TOYS OF ANYTHING. Want a figure of that one pony in that crazy pose from that one episode? WE CAN MAKE IT. ANYPONY. ANY POSE.
Magic.
Okay, okay no. First I model the pony up in 3DS Max. That's right, no lifting free models off the internet—we custom-model these toys to order. I export the model, and then it gets converted into code for the printer. About eight hours later, we've got an unruly mess of plastic that has to be trimmed, at which point I usually slice all my fingers open with the X-acto knife. Twice. Then we throw it in a chamber with boiled acetone vapor to give it a quick smooth down before sanding the ever-living crap out of it for an hour. After that, it's a spray coat of primer followed by several coats of acrylic. Yes, it involves a huge amount of work, which is why you won't see many people even attempting something like this, and if they do, it generally doesn't involve custom models.
By the way, our print process has improved about a hundredfold throughout the course of our working on these! We've made improvements that surprise even the 3D-printing community, and we have literally not sat still until we've gotten our figures' quality to a level comparable to sculptures.
Will do! For starters they're made of ABS plastic, making them really durable and lightweight. We're clumsy and tend to drop them on the floor all the time, but they haven't broken on us yet (note: you still probably shouldn't routinely drop any toy you get from us, as the ears and tails are still capable of snapping off if it lands on them.) Want to know how heavy they are, on average? About 70 grams, or 2.5 ounces. THAT'S REALLY LIGHT. They tend to be about 5 inches tall, or 12cm, though obviously this is dependent on the pose. We can do larger things as a special order, but the price will be have to be marked up on a case-by-case basis.
This section will list the base prices for different sizes of figures offered.
If you order a figure that I have already modeled and posted on DA, the turnaround time will be a whole heck of a lot quicker! We can begin printing and painting your model IMMEDIATELY, without any time spent modeling!

Now for the part you all really care about. Customs. We do custom orders, and this includes OCs. Custom models naturally require more work, however, as this can involve anywhere from 4-12 extra hours spent in 3Ds Max. Accessories bump this up even further. Therefore--
Custom Modeling Fee: +$20 to base price (plus extra for complex orders) Note me for a price quote!
Pretty much any pose is possible, though you should probably limit it to things that can actually stand up on their own without help (but we can create bases for things that wouldn't.) Overly elaborate accessories that are too small and detailed might have to be omitted, but I'll let you know beforehand if your commission request is printable or not. Also, it's really helpful if you have a reference image for us.
We only accept Paypal as payment. And come on...how many of you seriously have 6,000 points lying around, anyway? Where did you even get them, if you don't have money to buy them with?!
Send all request details to me in a note, and we can finalize all the details. As soon as I receive payment, you'll be added to the list!

Commission sale!
Hi everyone! I'm in a bit of a tight spot this month, and I'm looking to do some quickie commissions to fix that! Here are some examples!
Just $15 per character!
Throw me a note with the details / references, and I'll send you a paypal invoice. Please consider helping me out--it'd mean the world! If you can't afford it / aren't interested, then another way to help would be linking others to this journal post. Thank you!
It's been 3000 years...
Expect a flood of deviations this weekend as I post all the pony figures that have gotten finished in my absence. We're finally reaching the end of Ye Olde Commission list, after which point we'll be retiring from 3D-printed commissions. I know a lot of people are bound to be disappointed by that, but honestly, it's been coming for a long time. Look at how badly our rate slowed down after we both started working full-time (not that we were fast before...) I've gotten a lot of messages about commissions the past few months and have tried to turn them down politely, but I think it's time to put it to rest. And ultimately, I think it's for
Wow, okay, I need to post a status update!
I've been sending notes back and forth with a few of you, but that's no substitute for doing a full update on everything in the works.
This week:
Cellos, cellos, and more cellos. Three of them to be exact. Looking to have them all done in one fell swoop.
Shipping Mach and Discord. They were supposed to be shipped after New Years, but holiday travels left me rather ill and I fell behind schedule. Also I've never shipped a statue discord and I want to get it right.
Next week:
Painting Spitfire and Bonbon
Printing Apple Fritter
Week after that:
Modeling Alushy
Painting Littlepip
Printing APIP
As always, if you have any questions o
Moved in!
Rabid and I live together again! Finally our 3D printing work can resume! Man, I can't begin to talk about how frustrating that three-month separation was, but we're finally settled in, have all our tools and machines unpacked and set up, and are ready to get back into the swing of things.
The only casualties of the move were Mach's jacket, which suffered an acetone spill in transit. :B So that'll be the first thing printed at the new place. Also I'll be finally sending out the completed figures whose shipping was delayed by the move. Gonna have a lot of pics to post soon!
