Discord 3D Model [Pose 0]

This is without a doubt the most complex model I have ever created. Nearly 7k polygons and a whole lotta weird geometry that required me to figure out a lot of creative workarounds. And I think the result is pretty darn awesome. I don’t think it's wrong of me to say that this is one of the best Discord models currently out there.

I am giving away a roughly 8-inch tall 3D-printed figure of this model in a unique and dynamic pose that is yet to be decided. WANT TO OWN IT? Keep reading.

I’m currently rigging him. Then we’ll be printing him. And painting him. And then giving him away in a random drawing.

Why are we doing this? Because we’ve been printing ponies for a few months now, and made vast improvements to our process to the point where we feel like we can easily be the best in this field. Well…what am I saying, we already are the best when it comes to printing ponies. No one else has their own printer and their own models and no one else has done this as intensely as we have. But since we started out just like everyone else—inexperienced—our first few months were a bit slow, and as a result, have dragged us down with backlog despite our improvements.

We wanted a boost to jump out of that hole. The answer was convention vending.

We want the chance to sell our 3D prints at a convention! That would give us the money to get more machines to make these toys faster and completely eliminate backlog so you guys won’t have to wait as long for your orders! I’m not joking, almost every decision I make with regards to improvement is how we can better serve our commissioners, because they’re the ones paying us, and they deserve the best.

I’ve already reserved a table at Unicon in Las Vegas using my saved funds from the Nightmare Moon Raffle. Now we just need the funds to make the trip there. Because you see, it’s not just about selling our stuff there so that we can improve order quality and turnaround time. Well, that's mainly it, but we also have an extra goal there as well.

We want to print a second copy of Discord so we can give one to John DeLancie, the voice behind the chaos.

Which is why we’re humbly asking for any and all donations to make this dream a reality. With our first Discord being offered as the centerpiece of this fundraiser, and given away to one lucky person.

And that’s not the only thing. Since we’ll be running this event for about two weeks, during that time, I am going to take you through a detailed, picture-filled account of every single step that goes into making a 3D-printed figure. From modeling to printing to painting. So you have that to look forward to.
